Washington NC Inner Banks
Washington’s musicians, artists, and craftsmen have developed a voice and a vision unique to the Inner Banks, one that reflects the setting, heritage, and history of the region. Just drop in on some of the art galleries on the waterfront district and you can see that vision at work firsthand.
Because the arts of this region are a reflection of our cultural heritage, we like to celebrate our artists and craftsmen. Throughout the year, Washington hosts numerous events dedicated to the arts of eastern North Carolina.
Washington is also bringing the performing arts back to the Inner Banks. The historic Turnage Theater is a regional performing arts center, presenting the finest of live entertainment to eastern North Carolina. When visiting the Inner Banks, be sure to experience one of the most important aspects of our region: our rich artistic heritage.

Inner Banks Artisans’ Center is a 5,000 sq. ft. gallery with studios, representing the art of painters, potters, photographers, jewelers, glass, wood, fiber & silk, as well as music and craft shops.
A multipurpose exhibition space located at the heart of historic downtown Washington. Features bimonthly art exhibits as well as a sales gallery of fine art, fine craft, and various handmade gift items. Owners hold degrees in Fine Arts from ECU.

The full-time, professional Christian and family musical theatre features the musical works of Gloria Emmerich and holds workshops for the children of Beaufort County. Mrs. Cromley's Country Buffet Restaurant serves theatre patrons.
