February 1 - 4, 2012 Shop hop hours are Wed. through Fri. 9 am to 7 pm and Sat. 9 am to 5 pm (all shops will observe the same open hours during the hop.)

· RUN, DON'T WALK to your local quilt shop if you don't already have your shop hop passport. Passports themselves are plentiful, but the "special" red bags are in short supply (about 6 left at each shop). These bags will entitle their owners to take advantage of additional promotions throughout the year.

Dress a Doll Fundraiser

The Blind Center will give you a plain, stuffed muslin cloth doll. You furnish the materials (fabric, knit, paint, stamped, etc.) and dress the doll in the fashion of your choice. All dolls must be completed and available for display by April 13. The completed dolls become the property of The Blind Center. The dolls will be available for sale in our Gift Shoppe and all proceeds benefit The Blind Center. Dolls will be judged for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes at our Rock-A-Thon held on April 21 at The Blind Center, 221 N. Harvey Street, Washington, NC, corner of Harvey and Third Streets. January 10 - March 6: This is a Tuesday afternoon class and meets from 10-12pm. Linda Boyer is the instructor. There is a $25 fee for the eight week classes. These classes explore drawing and and watercolor painting basics and emphasize a natural theme. Reservations are required and a materials list is available. 252-948-0000.

There is a speical display of renowned waterfowl carver Chuck May's decoy memorabilia that was donated to the Estuarium. This exhibit will be on display for the weekend East Carolina Wildlife Arts Festival and NC Decoy Carving Championships.

Children's Decoy Painting Workshop
